Inter’s new signing Valentino Lazaro has already come into contact with the Nerazzurri’s glorious history, albeit indirectly.

Tuttosport today highlighted how the 23-year-old spent two seasons playing with Jonathan Klinsmann at Hertha Berlin, the son of Inter’s former forward Jurgen.

Klinsmann junior joined Swiss club St. Gallen this summer after making just one Bundesliga appearance for their first team.

“Jurgen Klinsmann has stayed in Inter supporters’ hearts for being part of their iconic German trio alongside Lothar Matthaus and Andy Brehme,” the paper recalled this morning.

Lazaro underwent a medical with Inter on Monday after the Nerazzurri agreed a fee in the region of €21.5 million with Hertha.

The Austrian international scored three goals and created seven assists last season as Pal Dardai’s side finished 11th in Germany’s top flight.

Antonio Conte believes Lazaro is the perfect player to slot in at right wing-back in his 3-5-2 system, capable of covering the entire flank with impressive stamina.
