Inter CEO Marotta Could Meet Wanda For Icardi Talks On Thursday

Inter’s chief executive Beppe Marotta could meet Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara to discuss the striker’s future on Thursday, according to Corriere della Sera.

The Nerazzurri want to sell their former captain, who returned from his holiday in Polynesia last weekend, and hope to resolve his future before preseason starts on Monday.

Icardi wants to stay in Milan, though, and would only accept a move to Juventus if he were forced out.

Antonio Conte does not consider Icardi to be part of his plans but will most likely be stuck with the 26-year-old in Lugano next week.

Corriere also provided an update on Inter’s pursuit for Nicolò Barella, warning the final word on his future has not been written yet.

Inter are ‘very far ahead’ with the player, who only wants to sign for the Nerazzurri if he leaves Cagliari and again rejected an offer from Roma yesterday via agent Alessandro Beltrami.

Roma have offered Cagliari €35 million plus Gregoire Defrel but will struggle to get the 22-year-old to change his mind.

In any case, the paper assured Barella’s future would not be resolved in short order.
