Inter-Linked Dzeko Does Not Want To Return To Roma For Preseason

Edin Dzeko hopes to complete a move to Inter in short order so he does not have to return to Roma for preseason, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Bosnian agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri more than a month ago and is waiting for positive news while holidaying in Croatia.

However, Inter and Roma are still nowhere near an agreement after it seemed last week they might reach a deal for €16-17 million plus a youngster.

“They never finalised a deal in the end, and the fact both clubs met their ‘capital gain’ target before 30 June has pushed them apart,” the paper reported this morning.

“Inter are prepared to wait six months and sign Dzeko on a free transfer in January, but Roma are staying firm because they believe the Nerazzurri have made too big a commitment to the player to not raise their offer.”

Inter are unwilling to raise their offer beyond €10 million while Roma continue to ask for twice as much.

Dzeko hopes he will not have to begin preparation for the new campaign with Roma, who have appointed Paulo Fonseca as their head coach for the 2019-20 season.
