Inter will make fresh contact with Manchester United this week as they bid to secure a deal for Romelu Lukaku, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Lukaku turned up at the Red Devils’ training ground yesterday to begin preparation for the new season, which was appreciated by the club.

However, the Belgian has his heart set on Inter because Antonio Conte would make him a more important in his team than United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“It won’t be easy for Inter to find the money to sign Lukaku because United would only accept a permanent deal at the moment,” the paper reported this morning.

“Including Mauro Icardi in the deal or raising funds by selling him elsewhere would help.”

Conte wants Inter to sign Lukaku and Edin Dzeko in short order so he can begin working on the Nerazzurri’s new-look attack.

Neither target is close to a move, however, with United and Roma both proving difficult to negotiate with.
