Romelu Lukaku is eager to complete a move to Inter before Manchester United fly to Australia for their preseason tour next week, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The striker curtailed his summer holidays to start training on Monday and wants everything sorted between the clubs before 8 July.

Inter offered United a two-year loan with an obligation to buy but that has been rejected, and the Red Devils ‘have no interest’ in a part-exchange deal including Mauro Icardi either.

“Lukaku is mindful of the potential hazards of United’s departure date for Perth,” the paper said today.

“In the 2017 summer window, United were confident of finalising a deal for Ivan Perisic while on tour in the United States, but the Nerazzurri insisted he travel to China for pre-season and United’s pursuit effectively ended for the £50m-rated Croat.”

United want a cash-only deal for Lukaku and are obliged to give Everton £5 million of any fee they receive for the 26-year-old.

Lukaku has three years left on his current deal and the Red Devils do not want to make a loss on him.
