Nicolò Barella will keep his word with Inter and push to join them despite Cagliari agreeing a deal with Roma, reports in Sardinia confirmed today.

The Giallorossi have convinced the Rossoblu’s owner Tommaso Giulini by offering €35 million and Gregoire Defrel, but the player and his agent Alessandro Beltrami have other ideas.

L’Unione Sarda reported Inter have offered €36 million and €4 million in add-ons, and the Nerazzurri are currently showing no signs of increasing it.

Cagliari are holding out for more money but their own transfer business is starting to get held up by the standby, which could encourage them to accept a smaller fee.

Inter and Cagliari began talks last month but their negotiations have been on hold for several weeks now.

Giulini told reporters yesterday he had not heard from the Nerazzurri in ’20 days’ and did not know if they were still interested in Barella, but it is clear Inter most certainly are.
