Valentino Lazaro promised Inter supporters today he wanted to ‘achieve big things’ after completing a move from Hertha Berlin.

The Austrian international’s arrival was officially announced by the Nerazzurri on Monday after completing a medical and receiving a tour of the club’s offices.

Lazaro gave his first interview to Inter TV this morning and said his first impressions were ‘fantastic’.

“I hope to do well and have a bright future at this club,” the 23-year-old said.

“I didn’t know that there would be all this waiting for me and then I saw all the comments and messages. I’m very happy with all this love I’ve received.

“The only thing I can do is give my best to repay all of the faith showed in me already. I’ll do my best on the pitch. I can’t wait to start playing.”

Lazaro revealed he spoke to Antonio Conte ten days ago and confirmed the Italian played a decisive role in him coming here.

“He told me exactly what expects to see from me and this was one of my reasons for coming here,” the midfielder explained.

“I think that I can learn a lot from him and as I’ve said, I’ll do everything I can to repay the faith shown in me.

“I hope that I can do great things, there’s not long to go now until preseason and I can’t wait. I’ll give my all to do well and achieve big things. Forza Inter!”
