Inter have three reasons to consider Fernando Llorente a solid alternative to Edin Dzeko up front, according to Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri are not making progress in their talks with Roma and have identified the Spanish striker as a good Plan B.

Llorente became a free agent last weekend after his contract with Tottenham expired, meaning he would officially cost nothing.

“He’s only one year older than Dzeko at 34 and Conte has already coached him during his last season at Juventus,” the paper explained this morning.

“There’s also the fact he was heavily involved in Tottenham’s run to the Champions League final, in which he made sure the injured Harry Kane was not missed.

“Llorente is an excellent back-up option for Inter if talks for Dzeko don’t progress, but he may not remain a free agent for long.”

Conte wants Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku up front with Mauro Icardi expected to leave, but neither target appears particularly close to joining at present.
