Joao Miranda surprisingly told reporters last night he wanted to stay at Inter this summer.

The Brazilian international helped the Selecao reach the Copa America final on Tuesday, playing the final 30 minutes of a 2-0 win against Argentina.

Miranda was then asked about his future and suggested he would be happy to stay with the Nerazzurri, despite only having one year left on his deal.

“A lot of people talk about me but I’m an Inter player,” Miranda told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Everyone talks without knowing what I want. It might be a good option for me to stay. Inter are developing and I would like to be part of an Inter team that wins something.

“For now I’m only concentrated on the Copa America final, though. When the tournament is over I’ll speak with Inter’s management to find out if they want to keep me.”

Miranda was a bit-part player under Luciano Spalletti last season with Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij becoming the first-choice centre-back partnership.
