Roma are considering offering a new contract to Inter-bound Edin Dzeko, according to Corriere della Sera.

Dzeko expected to join Inter before preseason training began next week but the Nerazzurri are not on good terms with Roma at present.

The Giallorossi’s approach for Nicolo Barella, for whom they have reached an agreement with Cagliari owner Tommaso Giulini, has made relations a lot more tense.

Dzeko has one year left on his deal in the capital but Roma may now look to remove the risk of losing him for free, offering him a new contract.

Other sources on Wednesday suggested the Bosnian had already rejected a new deal and would be prepared to do so again if necessary.

Antonio Conte wants Dzeko to start up front for Inter alongside Romelu Lukaku but there is no sign of an agreement being reached soon.

Inter will spend a week in Lugano next week before heading to Asia for a tour.
