Inter’s hopes of signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus this summer have all but vanished, according to Sky Sport.

The Nerazzurri had hoped to include the forward in a swap deal for Mauro Icardi, whose name continues to be linked with the Old Lady.

However, Dybala has been taken off the market because Maurizio Sarri wants to build his new-look side around La Joya.

Juventus cannot make a serious move for Icardi until they have found a buyer for Gonzalo Higuain, meaning all negotiations are on hold for the next few weeks.

Inter wanted to reinvest the money they received from selling their former captain into a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku.

The Nerazzurri are determined to push ahead with their pursuit of the Belgian regardless, though, and the same applies for Roma striker Edin Dzeko.

Antonio Conte will begin preseason training in Switzerland next week but Matteo Politano will be the only first-team forward available, given Icardi has already been discarded.
