Inter will find it very difficult to sign Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United without selling Mauro Icardi first, Sky Sport confirmed tonight.

The Nerazzurri met Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello yesterday to discuss personal terms, but the bigger problem will be making a convincing offer to the Premier League club.

United want €70 million to sell the forward but Inter will struggle to spend that much if they still have both Icardi and Lautaro Martinez in their squad.

Juventus face a similar problem in their pursuit of Icardi, with the Bianconeri first required to find a buyer for Gonzalo Higuain.

Antonio Conte will begin preseason training in Switzerland next week and it is Icardi he will be forced to work with, not Lukaku like he had hoped.

Neither Inter nor Juventus can go all in for the forward they want until they have found a new club for the ones they already have.
