Inter are one of three European clubs who have sent scouts to watch Athletico Paranaense midfielder Bruno Guimarães, according to reports in Brazil.

Guimarães has made 14 appearances for the Serie A club so far this season, scoring twice and creating two assists in the Copa Libertadores.

The 21-year-old rejected a €40 million offer from Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua recently, preferring a move to Europe at this stage of his career.

Shakhtar Donetsk and Chelsea also have their eyes on Guimarães, but neither they nor Inter have made an official offer yet.

Guimarães has made 63 appearances for Tiago Nunes’ side since breaking into their first team, contributing six goals and four assists.

The midfielder scored in a 4-1 win over Vasco de Gama on the opening weekend of the league season, before captaining the team against Palmeiras.

Athletico-PR, who are based in Curitiba, are 12th in Brazil’s top flight after nine matches, having lost five games already.
