The coming week should be decisive in Inter’s pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter and Cagliari have been negotiating for the 22-year-old for some time now and are working toward closing the distance between the two clubs.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and Cagliari president Tomasso Giulini will both be present at the Lega meeting on Monday and could well take the opportunity to meet with one another then. If not, they will meet in the days after.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly offered a deal totalling around €40 million whilst the Rossoblu continue to demand €50 million for their star man, who is one of the top Italian prospects around at the moment.

There is a feeling that an agreement can be reached somewhere around the half-way mark, the report from the Milan based news outlet concludes, meaning the deal will probably cost Inter about €45 million.
