Cagliari have made a last ditch attempt to try and convince coveted Nicolo Barella to stay at the club but the Italian international is not interested according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
Inter are strongly interested in signing the 22-year-old, who has seemingly promised himself to the Nerazzurri, but this has not stopped the Sardinian club from trying to tie him down to a new contract.
The Rossoblu are willing to double his current salary, which would make him the joint highest earner at the club alongside Leonardo Pavoletti. The deal would also include a €50 million release clause. Barella wishes to avoid this as it will complicate matters for him securing his move to San Siro to play for Inter.
The Rome based newspaper suggest that Barella could however be interested in signing a new contract if he is still with the club come the end of the transfer window, although it looks unlikely that that will happen.
