Inter new boy Valentino Lazaro has spoken on his move to the club and revealed that Antonio Conte played a big part in him joining.
“Inter are an enormous club, right at the top level, with great history full of success, plus they’re in the Champions League,” he began an interview with Berliner Zeitung.
He then progressed to speak on the importance of Conte in his decision to join the Nerazzurri.
“The conversations I had with Antonio Conte and the project really convinced me. Thanks to Conte, I know that I can grow as a player.”
He then went on to thank his former employers Hertha Berlin for his time spent with them.
“I’ll always be grateful to the Hertha Berlin fans and the club for all the support they gave me. Of course, I’m proud that Inter spent so much on the transfer, as it means they really believe in me.”
He concluded by speaking on Italian football and if a comparison can be made to German football.
“It’ll be a completely new environment for me in an incredible stadium and I can’t wait to get started. Serie A has always had a high profile and there are excellent players returning to Italian football, so that shows the level is improving again. You can’t really compare to the Bundesliga, as they have completely different football cultures.”
