Nicolò Barella is edging ever closer to joining Inter with reports today suggesting Cagliari are ‘seriously considering’ saying yes to the Nerazzurri’s offer.

Gazzetta dello Sport said Beppe Marotta could meet the Rossoblu’s owner Tommaso Giulini today, when the pair will both visit the Lega Calcio’s headquarters in Milan.

Cagliari are aware of Barella’s unbreakable desire to sign for Inter and might accept the €40 million Inter are offering, having originally wanted €50 million.

Inter may be asked to include one of their academy players in the deal, though, with the paper naming Felice D’Amico as a possible makeweight.

Marotta may also meet Roma’s chief executive Guido Fienga in a bid to make progress in talks for Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian is not as close to joining the Nerazzurri as Barella, though, given the substantial distance between the clubs’ valuations.

Inter nonetheless hope Monday will be a positive day in terms of their pursuit for the 33-year-old as well.
