Inter Will Turn To Emerson Palmieri If Perisic’s Attitude Doesn’t Impress

Inter are prepared to turn to Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri if Ivan Perisic does not impress Antonio Conte during preseason, according to Tuttosport.

Conte signed the 24-year-old while in charge of the Blues and believes Emerson would be an ideal alternative to the Croatian, who began training under Inter’s new boss this morning.

Perisic will be asked to play as a wing-back with Conte and the forward must convince him he has the right attitude and motivation to stick around.

If he is found wanting in those departments Inter will not think twice about putting him on the market this summer.

Emerson has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea since joining in 2017, scoring once in a 2-1 win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup last season.

He also boasts four caps with the Italian national team, acquiring an Italian passport two years ago after his arrival at Palermo from Brazil in 2014.
