Inter have agreed a deal with Troyes to sign defender Etienne Kinkoue for €1 million, according to RMC Sport.

The 17-year-old helped Rui Almeida’s sign finish third in Ligue 2 last season before they lost to Lens in the play-off semi-finals.

Kinkoue has also made four appearances for France’s under-17 side, scoring against Italy on his debut in December.

The deal is all but done and will presumably be announced in the next couple of weeks, pending a medical.

Inter have already signed one promising French youngster from the second division this summer, purchasing midfielder Lucien Agoume from Sochaux.

Agoume began preseason training with the first team under Antonio Conte yesterday and will travel with Inter for their summer tour in Asia.

Piero Ausilio was forced to sell various academy players last month in a bid to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, but Kinkoue’s imminent arrival underlines the club’s continuing commitment to their youth system.
