Mauro Icardi remains strongly linked with a move to Juventus after reports claimed the Bianconeri’s owner Andrea Agnelli flew to Ibiza on Sunday to discuss a deal for the forward.

Radiomercato reported Agnelli went to meet FIFA agent Gabriele Giuffrida, who lives on the Spanish island and is working on a deal to bring Icardi to Turin.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Agnelli denied the meeting and insisted he had gone to Ibiza for ‘family reasons’.

However, the Old Lady are keen to sign Icardi regardless after welcoming Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey to the club on free transfers.

Icardi began preseason training with Inter yesterday but is destined to leave the Nerazzurri, despite repeatedly hinting at his desire to stay on social media.

Juventus have seemed the most likely destination all summer but Napoli are working on Icardi too and want to beat the Italian champions to the 26-year-old.

Inter would rather sell their former captain to Napoli than Juve, not least because Paulo Dybala has told them he intends to stay and work under Maurizio Sarri.

Juve’s first offer for Icardi will be in the region of €40-45 million while Aurelio De Laurentiis is willing to pay more.

Inter want €60-70 million but it remains to be seen how much power they will really have during negotiations, having made it clear to everyone they intend to get rid of Icardi.
