Nicolò Barella could undergo a medical with Inter as early as Friday, according to FcInterNews.it.

The midfielder is on the verge of completing his move to the Nerazzurri after they agreed a deal with Cagliari in a meeting yesterday.

Inter met Barella’s agent Alessandro Beltrami again today and informed him of the good news, telling Beltrami they will meet the Rossoblu on Wednesday to finalise the agreement.

Barella will sign a five-year deal and earn €2.5 million per season, having agreed personal terms several weeks ago.

The 22-year-old is on holiday at the moment after representing Italy in the European Under-21 Championships last month.

However, Barella will interrupt his vacation to complete the medical and sign his new contract if Inter and Cagliari can sort everything before Friday.

Antonio Conte wanted at least one more reinforcement in midfield before starting the new season, and it seems Inter are close to satisfying his request.
