Nicolò Barella will become an Inter player by the end of this week but the Nerazzurri have not quite agreed a deal with Cagliari yet, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Numerous reports during the last 48 hours suggested the clubs had already found an agreement after holding fresh talks on Monday.

However, they have not reached a full agreement on the add-ons which will be included in the deal and need to continue negotiating.

Inter’s latest offer to Cagliari was a loan worth €10-12 million and an obligation to buy for €28-30 million, along with €5 million in add-ons which are not easy to trigger.

Barella will nevertheless join Inter very soon and everything could be finalised as early as tomorrow.

The midfielder’s agent Alessandro Beltrami visited the club’s offices in Milan yesterday, although Gazzetta reported he was there to discuss Radja Nainggolan.

Inter and Cagliari need to agree on what conditions will trigger the ‘bonuses’ in the deal but they are expected to do that in short order.
