Nicolò Barella will ask Kwadwo Asamoah to let him wear Inter’s no. 18 shirt this season, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The midfielder is due to complete his move to the Nerazzurri on Friday after completing a medical in the morning.

He would like to retain the same number he wore for Cagliari but Asamoah took it last summer after arriving from Juventus.

Asamoah was knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations last week and the Ghana international is currently on holiday.

Barella will most likely live in the City Life zone of Milan, a fashionable area where Antonio Candreva and Danilo D’Ambrosio also have their homes.

Keita Balde was another Inter player to live there last season, but the forward has since returned to Monaco after his loan deal expired.

Antonio Conte hopes to include Barella in his squad for Inter’s summer tour of Asia, for which the Nerazzurri will fly to China on Tuesday.
