Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic are Inter’s most in-form players as the Nerazzurri prepare to play Lugano on Sunday, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Antonio Conte has a long list of defections ahead of his first preseason friendly at the weekend, including Matteo Politano after the forward picked up a thigh strain.

The former Juventus and Chelsea boss has been working hard on his 3-5-2 system, though, and he appears to have clear ideas already.

“The first thing to note is that Brozovic has played in the central midfield role much more than Stefano Sensi,” the paper explained this morning.

“His alter ego in that position has been Borja Valero, while either side have been Roberto Gagliardini (on the right, with Lucien Agoume as his backup) and Sensi (on the left, with Joao Mario as an alternative). The position on the left of the midfield three will go to Nicolò Barella next week.

“Valentino Lazaro and Perisic have been playing at wing-back, with Antonio Candreva and Dalbert as their respective understudies, while the three players used most in defence are Andrea Ranocchia, Stefan De Vrij and Milan Skriniar.

“Politano (until he was injured) and Samuele Longo have been playing up front ahead of Facundo Colidio and Edoardo Vergani.”

Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan have not taken part in any tactical drills this week, apart from a few midfield-only exercises which Nainggolan completed yesterday.

Candreva and Sensi have impressed the most after Inter’s Croatian duo, while those with a slightly bigger build – Ranocchia, Skriniar, De Vrij and Gagliardini – appear to need more time before they come into form.
