Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini spoke to Corriere dello Sport about his club’s targets for the coming season, as well as his decision to sell Nicolo Barella to Inter. Here is what he had to say:

“Do I still have shares in Inter? Yes, and it embarrasses me to this day. The shares are unsellable. The value is insignificant, as I left Inter from an emotional standpoint when Moratti sold up. Cagliari absorbs me completely now.

“It was the right decision to sell Barella this summer, even on a personal level. His departure is a tough blow, having watched him grow as a footballer and as a man, establish himself here and earn an Italy call-up.

“The other night, having arrived in Milan, Nicolo came to my house, we hugged each other and I told him that I would love to welcome him back to Cagliari one day. He liked the idea.”
