Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has reflected upon Inter’s pre-season training camp in Lugano ahead of the Nerazzurri’s pre-season tour of Asia.

“The Lugano retreat was a period of great tranquility combined with intense work from a footballing point of view. Ffrom Villa Sassa to Cornaredo, they were certainly up to it, and we appreciated the availability from the human point of view that helped us to face this period in the best way,” he told Swiss news outlet RSI.

Inter have spent the past week in the Italian speaking region of Switzlerland and played their first friendly match against local side Lugano last night. The Nerazzurri ran out 2-1 victors with the goals coming from new boy Stefano Sensi and Marcelo Brozovic.

In the coming days Inter will travel to Asia where they will play several more friendly matches as part of the annual International Champions Cup pre-season tournament.
