Inter centre back Stefan de Vrij has reflected on yesterday’s 2-1 pre-season friendly victory over Swiss side Lugano.
“It is always good to get back playing. It was important for us to get fuel back in the legs and try to understand what the coach wants from us,” he told Sport Italia.
“Are we working hard? Yes. We have to work hard, sweat and five our best. It has been tough but we do not mind. We are happy to be wearing this shirt and to work.”
The Dutchman also had a few words for the Inter fans.
“I am happy for the fans who are always present. We always feel supported by them and we try to repay the trust they show us by giving our best out on the pitch.”
In conclusion he was asked about the situations of Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi, both of whom have been told they are not part of the Inter project.
“We have to look forward and do what we have to do. We have to think about ourselves and train, these things do not concern us.”
