Inter President Zhang Has Doubts About Move For Romelu Lukaku

Inter president Steven Zhang has serious doubts about the club’s ongoing pursuit of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Belgian is seemingly Inter’s number one transfer target but they have faced a great deal of difficulty when it comes to negotiating with the Premier League club, who are demanding €85 million.

The 26-year-old has an agreement in principle with Inter over personal terms and it remains to be seen if Inter will be able to get a move done for him.

Mauro Icardi’s sale would certainly help Inter but at the moment there are no offers for the Argentine, who has been told his future lies away from the club.

The report from the Rome based newspaper go on to report that Inter have began to draw up some alternatives in the event they are forced to abandon the idea of signing Lukaku.

Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata is plan B. The Colombian forward, who had his breakout season last season, would cost approximately half of what Manchester United are wanting for Lukaku.

Valencia’s Rodrigo is another idea whilst RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner was, but the German has promised himself to Bayern Munich.
