Following yesterday’s 2-1 friendly victory for Inter over Lugano, Gazzetta dello Sport have reflected upon some of the stand-out performers, starting with new signing Stefano Sensi.

“Many still have to arrive, from Barella to Godin, from Lukaku to Dzeko, not to mention Lautaro, but the first player to make an impression was Stefano Sensi.

“In Conte’s 3-5-2 system, he was like Pirlo at Conte’s Juve and Matic at Conte’s Chelsea. He is already a master of the role and the team were looking for him on the pitch and elected him as a leader.”

The Milan based newspaper were also left very impressed by Ivan Perisic.

“The Croatian was the next best player on the field. He was the most dangerous with two shots on goal and assisted the second goal.”

Youngster Lucien Agoume was also subject to praise with Gazzetta impressed by the personality he showed once he came on the pitch.

The report concludes by looking at two players who should have done better in Roberto Gagliardini and Samuele Longo.

“With the physique Gagliardini has, it takes him some time to get going but he needed to show more courage.”

As for Longo they stated: “While the first match is not worth anything, he should be looking to take advantage of every single chance he gets.”
