Inter are holding a second meeting with Fiorentina tonight as the clubs continue to discuss Borja Valero, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Piero Ausilio met the Viola’s sporting director Daniele Prade earlier and the pair are now having dinner together in Milan, along with Ausilio’s vice-sporting director Dario Baccin.
Fiorentina have revived their interest for the midfielder after making a first approach for Valero in June.
The 34-year-old could still be an idea for the club later on in the summer if an agreement is not reached now.
Vincenzo Montella brought Valero to Italy during his first stint with Fiorentina, signing the Spaniard from Villarreal.
Inter are unlikely to offer significant resistance given they want to offload the player, but it remains to be seen how much money they want.
Valero’s agent Alejandro Camano earlier denied having any contact with Fiorentina, but admitted his client still views Florence as his home.
Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella’s arrivals mean he is unlikely to find much game-time for the Nerazzurri under Antonio Conte.
Inter signed Valero for €5.5 million in 2017 but Fiorentina’s management has changed since then and it seems they want to bring him back.
