Inter have not forgotten about Edin Dzeko while they focus their attention on signing Romelu Lukaku, Tuttosport assured this morning.

The Manchester United striker must take priority for now considering the English transfer window closes on 8 August, just over three weeks from now.

Inter have Dzeko’s situation under control after agreeing personal terms with the Bosnian, though, and are simply waiting for the right moment to resume talks with Roma.

The Nerazzurri had threatened the capital club with the prospect of letting negotiations slide until the final few days of the transfer window, but they will not do this out of respect for Dzeko.

The 33-year-old has agreed to earn less money during his first year at Inter than he would have done in his final year with Roma, so his loyalty will be respected.

Dzeko will eventually put pen to paper on a three-year deal whenever negotiations begin again, but there is an €8 million difference between the clubs’ valuations at present.

Inter want to sign the striker for €12 million while Roma’s asking price remains €20 million.
