Inter’s former transfer director Walter Sabatini made a thinly-veiled dig at Wanda Nara and her management of Mauro Icardi this morning.

Sabatini spent 10 months working for Suning before resigning in March 2018, amid reports he was disillusioned with their plans for Inter and Jiangsu.

Icardi has been frozen out by the Nerazzurri this summer with many accusing Wanda, the striker’s wife and agent, of creating a bad image for him.

“Mauro is a magnificent guy with a very loving father,” Sabatini told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If he were at my club I’d find a new boyfriend for Wanda so she could stay away from him a bit.”

Antonio Conte has left Icardi out of his squad for Inter’s preseason tour in Asia and is waiting for the club to sell their former captain.

The 26-year-old was stripped of the captain’s armband back in February after Wanda made a series of impertinent comments on Mediaset’s weekly talk show Tiki Taka.
