Napoli are preparing to make a big-money offer for Inter striker Mauro Icardi towards the end of August, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Partenopei have already approached Wanda Nara and offered her husband an annual salary worth more than €7 million net.

Aurelio De Laurentiis does not want to make contact with Inter yet, however, in case their offer sparks a bidding war with other clubs.

Icardi appears to be waiting for a move to Juventus but Inter would much prefer to send their former captain to Naples.

Carlo Ancelotti is a great admirer of Icardi and has already started thinking about how Napoli would play with Icardi up front.

The Azzurri would keep their current 4-4-2 system but Lorenzo Insigne would move out to the left wing, leaving Maurito to line up alongisde Arkadiusz Milik or Dries Mertens in the middle.

Icardi has been left out of Inter’s squad for their preseason tour in Asia, which starts on Saturday against Manchester United, and will train alone at Appiano Gentile until the Nerazzurri return.
