Radja Nainggolan was ironically picked as Inter’s ‘star man’ by Manchester United in an article on the Red Devils’ website yesterday, as reported by Tuttosport.

United face the Nerazzurri in the International Champions Cup tomorrow and profiled their opponents for supporters.

Mauro Icardi’s situation is clear and the club’s writers knew not to pick him as Inter’s most dangerous player, but it seems they did not realise Nainggolan is in a similar position.

“Nainggolan has been called up to Antonio Conte’s squad for the tour in Asia, but he’s still on the fringes,” Tuttosport assured this morning.

“At the moment there’s no sign his situation will change either.”

Beppe Marotta confirmed Nainggolan and Icardi were not part of Inter’s plans for the coming season last week, when he held a joint press conference alongside Conte.

Conte then reiterated the Nerazzurri’s stance in his pre-match press conference on Friday, telling reporters ‘nothing has changed’.

United may fear Nainggolan ahead of tomorrow’s game in Singapore but they will almost certainly be spared the hassle of having to play him.
