Mauro Icardi pushed himself further away from Inter last night after the striker posed for a photograph wearing a Newell’s Old Boys shirt.
The striker has flown to Ibiza for the weekend after training alone at Appiano Gentile since Tuesday morning.
Icardi has joined up with his wife and agent Wanda Nara on the Spanish island, but he has also met a friend of his to relax for a couple of days.
Corriere dello Sport reported Inter did not take Maurito’s photo well, which was published on his Instagram story and showed both wearing the red Newell’s shirt.
Antonio Conte has excluded Icardi from Inter’s preseason tour in Asia and confirmed ahead of the defeat to Manchester United he was ‘not part of his plans’.
Inter were already on bad terms with their former captain and the decision to wear another club’s shirt will not have helped.
Icardi has no future at the club but it remains to be seen whether he will accept the idea of leaving.
Juventus and Napoli have both been heavily linked but neither club appears to have made Inter an offer so far.
