The paper assured it was not yet time for the Nerazzurri’s supporters to panic, but underlined the lack of progress both in terms of buying and selling.
Mauro Icardi’s future has yet to be resolved while Romelu Lukaku’s position between Inter and Manchester United remains ‘an enigma’.
Inter’s rivals AC Milan have also endured a tough summer, receiving a ‘no’ from several key targets as they battle with Financial Fair Play restrictions.
Talks are still in progress to bring Lukaku to Inter but United are staying firm on their €85 million asking price.
The upshot is that Antonio Conte’s new-look side now has less enthusiasm surrounding it, after an initial burst of excitement from supporters in June.
Conte lost his patience in Friday’s press conference before the defeat to Manchester United, reminding his employers they were ‘behind schedule’ with their transfer activity.
“He reminded people, in case they had forgotten, that he is not the most accommodating of characters,” Corriere wrote this morning.
“If anyone thought his experience with Chelsea had mellowed him out then they were very much mistaken. He was and still is a tough man.”
Inter had no first-choice strikers available against United and will again be forced to count upon Samuele Longo and Sebastiano Esposito on Wednesday, when they face Conte’s former club Juventus in Nanjing.
