Inter Study Darmian, Palmieri & Kolarov As Replacements For Perisic & Dalbert

Inter have three realistic options if they wish to replace both Ivan Perisic and Dalbert this summer, according to Tuttosport.

Matteo Darmian, Emerson Palmieri and Aleksandar Kolarov could all step in to play on the left-hand side of Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

None are perfect replacements, however, with talks for Palmieri and Kolarov likely to be difficult in particular.

Perisic moved closer to the exit door yesterday after Antonio Conte told reporters he was unsuited to playing at wing-back, while Dalbert was already heading out.

Conte wanted to try the Croatian international in a new position this season, but the fact he already seems to have given up on the experiment is a bad sign.

Perisic still dreams of playing in the Premier League and has asked agent Nelio Lucas to look for clubs, but the 30-year-old has no offers on the table for now.

Dalbert was praised on Saturday for his ‘great application’ in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, but he has no future at Inter either.

Inter are already struggling to secure sales for Miranda, Borja Valero and Joao Mario, so the Perisic problem is one Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio would happily have avoided.

Darmian can play on the left-hand side of defence but is not left-footed, Palmieri will be difficult to prize away from Chelsea and Kolarov is 34 and could not play a whole season as first choice.

Conte also has Kwadwo Asamoah available if he wishes, but he considered the Ghanaian a second-choice option while the pair worked together at Juventus.
