Wanda Nara is treated far more harshly in the media than other divisive football agents ecause she is a woman, a high-profile Italian journalist has claimed.
Giancarlo Dotto wrote a long column in Sunday’s Corriere dello Sport explaining his reasoning, as Inter seek to sell Mauro Icardi after her controversial television appearances.
He believes numerous male agents have made similar comments to the ones Wanda has made in public, but without receiving anything like the same backlash.
“In 2015, Jonathan Barnett wrote a scathing column in the Telegraph against Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid teammates because they did not pass him the ball, but Bale is still there,” Dotto argued.
“Last year, Jorge Mendes said it was ridiculous Luka Modric had received the Ballon d’Or ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, and yet CR7 didn’t get rid of him as his agent.
“On our shores, Giovanni Branchini asked last November why Gigi Donnarumma had to be Italy’s first-choice keeper when his client, Salvatore Sirigu, was playing better. And Sirigu still plays for the national team.
“Mino Raiola, meanwhile, has called Pep Guardiola a coward, Jurgen Klopp a piece of sh*t, Arrigo Sacchi an oaf and Paul Scholes an idiot.
“Nobody will ever wage war against him. Guess why: only Wanda Nara is not allowed to do her job properly.”
Wanda is with Icardi in Ibiza this weekend as the striker takes a break from his individual training sessions at Appiano Gentile.
