Inter hope Matteo Politano can recover from his thigh injury to feature against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The forward picked up the problem in training last week and has missed the Nerazzurri’s first two preseason friendlies, against Lugano and Manchester United respectively.

Politano will also sit out Inter’s next International Champions Cup match against Juventus, but the PSG clash in Macau could be a realistic target for him.

Valentino Lazaro has suffered a similar injury to the Italian, but he is less likely to return having sustained the problem several days later.

Inter left Singapore on Sunday morning with a five-hour flight to China, ahead of their match with Juventus in Nanjing.

The first team will meet club president Steven Zhang and Suning’s owner Zhang Jindong there, before both welcome Piero Ausilio and Beppe Marotta for a transfer summit on Monday.

Diego Godin will also join up with his new teammates there, having landed in Asia alongside Uruguay teammate Matias Vecino this afternoon.

Inter signed a partnership with global technology company Acronis while in Singapore and will stay in China until Friday.
