Roma Striker Edin Dzeko Thought He Would Be An Inter Player By Now

Edin Dzeko is having to wait far longer than he expected to complete a move from Roma to Inter, Il Messaggero reported today.

The icy atmosphere between the clubs is beginning to thaw and they should agree a deal soon for €15 million, bonuses included.

However, Dzeko may have to wait until next weekend as Inter’s Italian-based management first need to receive one final OK from Suning supremo Zhang Jindong.

The paper wrote: “Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio left for Nanjing this morning, where they will meet Inter’s Chinese owners and request a supplementary budget for their transfer activity.

“Vice-sporting director Dario Baccin is the only person left in Italy, but he normally only oversees minor operations.”

Dzeko is not the only one to be frustrated by the delay to his deal, as Antonio Conte proved in his press conference on Friday before Inter’s defeat to Manchester United.

Conte publicly gave his employers the hurry up by telling reporters they were ‘behind schedule’ this summer, both in terms of buying and selling.

Dzeko scored twice for Roma yesterday as Paulo Fonseca’s side beat Travestere 12-0 in a local friendly match, but it appears only a matter of time before he joins up with his new coach and teammates in Milan.
