Edin Dzeko is destined to join Inter when the Nerazzurri return from their preseason tour in Asia, Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed today.

The Bosnian scored twice for Roma yesterday as they recorded a 12-0 win over Trastevere, but he is waiting to join up with Antonio Conte.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio will close a deal when they return from their trip to China, where they will hold a transfer summit with Conte and Inter’s hierarchy tomorrow.

Roma want €20 million for Dzeko while Inter are offering €12 million, but the parties are expected to reach an agreement imminently.

Dzeko’s arrival would hand Conte one of the two strikers he has expressly requested this summer, but talks for Romelu Lukaku are still proving very difficult.

Inter have begun speaking to Lille about their 20-year-old forward Rafael Leao, who could represent an alternative option, but they have not made a decisive move yet.

Leao scored eight goals in Ligue 1 last year and is expected to cost around €40 million.

Mauro Icardi’s future remains unclear, meanwhile, after the forward flew to Ibiza to spend the weekend with wife and agent Wanda Nara.

The forward will resume training alone at Appiano Gentile tomorrow, having been excluded from Conte’s squad for the tour in Asia.
