Inter could move for Matteo Darmian or Aleksandsar Kolarov following Antonio Conte’s public rejection of Ivan Perisic on Saturday.

Perisic played 45 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United and was later pushed towards the exit door by his new boss, when Conte told reporters he was unsuited to playing at wing-back.

Corriere della Sera today reminded readers that Darmian has one year left on his contract with Manchester United, as well as being a trusty disciple of Conte’s from their time with Italy.

Kolarov is a credible alternative and has already been discussed while Inter and Roma have negotiated for Edin Dzeko.

Perisic hopes to complete a long overdue move to the Premier League if he leaves Inter, with Arsenal and Manchester United showing strong interest in the past.

Conte will analyse these issues and more with Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Suning’s boss Zhang Jindong today when they meet in Nanjing for transfer talks.

Inter have flown there from Singapore after losing to United on Saturday and will now play Juventus on Wednesday.
