Inter’s players and management enjoyed dinner with Suning boss Zhang Jindong earlier today, as reported by Gazzetta.it.

The Nerazzurri are in Nanjing ahead of Wednesday’s International Champions Cup fixture against rivals Juventus.

Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Steven Zhang were all in attendance after leaving their hotel at 19:00 local time (13:00 CET).

Antonio Conte was expected to take the chance to speak to Zhang about his concerns for Inter’s transfer activity, which has slowed in recent weeks.

It is unclear whether this was the infamous transfer summit Monday’s papers had foreseen, or whether the dinner was an additional opportunity to talk about the market.

Conte will want every opportunity to speak to Inter’s owners, though, having complained about his shortage of centre-forwards last week.

Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko remain key targets but neither have arrived yet, forcing Inter to play with Samuele Longo and Sebastiano Esposito against Manchester United on Saturday.

Inter’s first team visited Suning’s headquarters on Monday morning, before completing their first training session since arriving in China in the afternoon.
