Napoli have been in contact with Inter over a potential move for out-of-favour striker Mauro Icardi according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Following the contact between the Partenopei’s sporting director and Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Icardi, it is understood that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has now been in contact with Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta over the 26-year-old, who has been told he has no future at the club.

The report states that Inter value Icardi, who has been with the club since 2013, between €60-70 million and Napoli are ready to give him a significant salary to swap San Siro for the San Paolo.

Inter’s arch-rivals Juventus are known to have an interest in signing Icardi too but their move largely depends on what manager Maurizio Sarri plans to do with striker Gonzalo Higuain, a player he had great success with in the past when they were at Napoli together.
