Inter do not have sufficient financial resources to chase Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to Corriere della Sera.

The Nerazzurri are focusing their current attention on signing two forwards, but they will also be looking to sign a midfielder before the transfer window closes on 2 September.

Milinkovic-Savic is not a name that can be considered realistic for that position, though, given Inter’s need to respect Financial Fair Play.

“Beppe Marotta was clear that Inter can’t afford any ‘crazy spending’ and that rules the Serbian out,” the paper reported this morning.

“If Inter don’t have the money to sign Romelu Lukaku then they clearly would not be able to sit down for talks with Claudio Lotito either.”

Marotta and Piero Ausilio hope to free up more funds by selling Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan, with Borja Valero, Joao Mario and Miranda also heading for the exit door.

Inter are struggling to find buyers for any of these players, though, with Corriere confirming there were still no offers for Nainggolan.

As well as a midfielder, the club would also like to sign another left-sided player to replace the outgoing Ivan Perisic, after Conte decided the Croatian could not play in his 3-5-2 system.
