Ivan Perisic will start up front for Inter in today’s International Champions Cup match with Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Croatian played only 45 minutes on Saturday against Manchester United, before Antonio Conte appeared to rule out a future with the Nerazzurri by saying he could not play at wing-back.
Conte will pick Perisic as one of his two strikers for the clash in Nanjing, however, having tried him out there during yesterday’s training session.
Nicolò Barella’s full debut will have to wait until Saturday’s fixture with Paris Saint-Germain, as he will begin on the bench.
Diego Godin will be sitting alongside the former Cagliari midfielder after starting training on Sunday, having completed his summer holidays late following the Copa America.
Radja Nainggolan is not expected to take any part in the match, with Conte most likely to leave him in the stands.
Inter slipped to their first defeat in preseason on Saturday when Manchester United beat them 1-0, but today’s Derby d’Italia represents the ideal opportunity for immediate redemption.
