Inter and Milan hope to earn twice as much from naming rights with their new stadium than other European clubs are getting.

Tuttosport this morning explained why the clubs’ joint ground represents a more attractive proposition to prospective sponsors.

The new San Siro would be home to two clubs competing on three fronts, meaning it could host up to 50 matches per season.

This would guarantee increased visibility for any company putting their name to the ground, forcing them to offer more money if they wanted the honour.

Inter and Milan submitted a Technical and Economic Feasibility Study to the city council two weeks ago and will have their plans approved or declined by November.

The stadium they have in mind would have 63,000 seats and a more ‘closed’ structure, ensuring less noise pollution for local residents.

The clubs also hope to develop the surrounding area by building a new multi-functional entertainment district, meaning the project’s total cost could rise to €1.2 billion.
