Juventus Win Friendly But Antonio Conte’s Inter Is Already Taking Shape

Inter showed signs of becoming the team Antonio Conte wants in yesterday’s preseason friendly against Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri ultimately prevailed 4-3 on penalties after Cristiano Ronaldo’s free-kick and Matthijs De Ligt’s own goal produced a 1-1 draw in normal time.

Gazzetta was impressed with the Nerazzurri’s display in Nanjing, however, underlining the traits which are already shining through.

“Inter’s 3-5-2 was almost too encouraging for a preseason friendly at the end of July,” the paper said.

“They kept playing quick changes of play so they could attack Juve’s weak flank. The central midfielders looked like they were playing from memory with their respective wide men.

“Stefano Sensi’s frequent positioning as a trequartista ahead of Marcelo Brozovic was also a constant.”

Inter kept looking to play out from the back on Wednesday, a quality Luciano Spalletti insisted on refining too.

The Nerazzurri’s last match on their tour of Asia will take place in Macao on Saturday, when they face Paris Saint-Germain.
