Antonio Conte was unable to pick a favourite player between Ronaldo and Lothar Matthaus when asked about the Inter legends last night.

The Nerazzurri’s head coach appeared on Chinese television and discussed several issues outside of football, such as his musical heroes and food preferences.

Conte was also given a tough choice between two of his new club’s greatest ever players, though, ultimately opting for a compromise.

“Both were top players and very important to Inter,” Conte told PPTV.

“I’d pick Matthaus for his spirit, but Ronaldo’s efficiency and goal-scoring ability meant he really was phenomenal.”

Conte then touched upon the different challenges people face as a player and as a coach.

“It’s harder to be a coach, but at the same time it gives you more satisfaction,” he added.

Inter’s first two matches of their preseason tour in Asia ended in a defeat and a draw, although Conte’s side impressed against Juventus on Wednesday.

Their final match will take place in Macao on Saturday, when they play Paris Saint-Germain, after which they will return to Europe.
