Inter have again been linked with a swap deal involving Mauro Icardi and Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik.

The Partenopei have stepped up their pursuit of Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, who was previously a target for Inter, as Aurelio De Laurentiis seeks a high-profile attacking player.

Napoli would like a second big signing up front to accompany the Senegalese international, though, and this could be either Icardi or James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

Inter have yet to sell their former captain and it is not impossible they could give him to Napoli for Milik and an additional fee of around €20 million.

Icardi is training alone at Appiano Gentile as he awaits Inter’s return from their preseason tour in Asia.

Antonio Conte has frozen Maurito out of the squad and shows no sign of changing his mind regarding the forward’s future.

Inter currently have no first-choice forwards available in China but not even that is tempting Conte to have second thoughts.

Their final match on tour is against Paris Saint-Germain in Macao tomorrow, having lost and drawn against Manchester United and Juventus respectively.
